The Only Digital Net that Goes to Eleven!
Georgia DMR is Now Georgia Digital!
December 7, 2022, marked the third anniversary of the net formerly known as the Georgia DMR Net! Exciting times!
Bill (KB4KFT) and I started the net in early December 2019. It would be the sort of thing we'd run for 6 to 12 months, and that would have been the end. Never in my wildest imagination did I think the net would run for 3+ years!
For anyone unable to join us for the net on 12/07/2022, we announced the rebranding from Georgia DMR to Georgia Digital. Doing so vastly expands the scope of discussion topics to anything digital regarding ham radio.
The net has been focused almost exclusively on DMR since its inception. We've covered everything we could think of. There are only so many times you can talk about DMR radios, hotspots, programming codeplugs, how DMR repeaters and DMR networks work, etc. It was time for a change.
Let me be clear - we are not giving up on DMR! It’s as welcome of a topic today as it always has been.
Can we talk about…
I couldn't be more excited about the change. It's evolutionary and, frankly, long overdue.
While Bill hasn't been involved in the net for quite some time, we've gained quite the roster of net operators since then:
While I know my fellow net ops have experience outside the realm of DMR, the hope is our audience will bring their knowledge and experience into the fold.
Please continue to bring your discussion topics to the net each week. We may not have as many answers to your questions as we have for DMR, but we hope the attendees can help drive the conversations as much as the net ops have done in the past.
If you would like to present during one of the nets, or you can recommend someone you think would be interested in presenting, please use the Contact Us form to reach out. We’d love to have guest speakers!
Lastly, I would like to extend my most heartfelt thanks to those who stuck with the net! It’s amazing to come back week after week and see so many of the same names! We know who you are, and we thank you for your support!
Our ask is that you tell your fellow hams about the net. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to grow the net!
73 for now!
